Boxie Sign Signing & Privacy Information
Last updated: March 25, 2026
This page summarizes Boxie Sign’s standard signer-identification and privacy handling practices in plain language. It is intended as a product information page, not legal advice for any specific transaction.

Standard Electronic Signing
For standard electronic signatures, Boxie Sign does not require every signer to upload a driver’s license or other government ID by default.
The usual signing flow is:
- the sender invites the signer by name and email address
- the signer opens a unique signing link
- the signer reviews the document and signs by drawing or typing their name
- the signer confirms intent before submission
- Boxie Sign records an audit trail
That audit trail may include the signer’s name, email address, signing timestamp, IP address, browser details, and the signed document’s audit record.
When Identification May Be Requested
Additional identity checks may be appropriate for higher-risk workflows. For example:
- sensitive business documents
- transactions with fraud concerns
- sender-specific compliance requirements
- notarized or regulated workflows
If a sender or workflow requires stronger identity verification, Boxie Sign may request additional information such as:
- a one-time passcode
- knowledge-based or account-based verification
- selfie or liveness checks
- a government-issued ID image
If government ID images are requested, Boxie Sign should collect only what is necessary for that workflow and retain it only as long as required for the applicable purpose.
Notarization And Special Cases
Boxie Sign’s standard electronic signing flow is not the same thing as notarization.
If a transaction requires in-person notarization, the signer normally presents identification directly to the notary. If a transaction requires remote online notarization, additional identity-proofing steps may apply, including front/back ID capture, credential analysis, and other verification measures required by the relevant jurisdiction or provider.
Personal Information We May Process
Depending on the transaction, Boxie Sign may process:
- account and contact information
- signer names and email addresses
- document metadata
- signature images or typed-signature data
- timestamps, IP addresses, and browser information
- audit records and signed artifacts
- support communications
Boxie Sign should avoid collecting unnecessary identity documents in the ordinary signing flow.
Requesting Access, Correction, Or Deletion
People may request review or removal of personal information that Boxie Sign holds about them, subject to identity verification, legal retention obligations, fraud prevention, security requirements, and other applicable exceptions.
This may include requests to:
- access the personal information associated with an account or signing event
- correct inaccurate information
- delete personal information that is no longer required
- object to or restrict certain processing where applicable
To submit a request, email privacy@boxie.to with the subject line Privacy Request and include:
- your full name
- the email address used with Boxie Sign
- the document, request, or account details involved
- the specific request you are making
Boxie Sign may ask for additional information to verify the request before acting on it.
GDPR, California, And Other Regional Rights
Privacy rights depend on where the individual is located and the role Boxie Sign is playing in the transaction.
- In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions, individuals may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability under applicable data-protection law.
- In California, residents may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete certain personal information, as well as rights related to sensitive information and non-discrimination, subject to statutory exceptions.
- Other U.S. states and countries may provide similar rights.
Some signed records cannot be deleted immediately if they must be retained for legal, contractual, tax, security, anti-fraud, or evidentiary reasons.
Important Limits
Boxie Sign is a signing platform. The sender of a document may also hold independent copies of the document and related personal information. A privacy request directed to Boxie Sign may not remove copies controlled by the sender or other parties to the transaction.
If a request relates to a document sent by another organization, Boxie Sign may direct the requester to that organization when it is the appropriate controller for the underlying transaction.
